1. Nature of the Service
ShipIntern provides career acceleration, practical skill training, mentorship, and professional network curation through its 14-Day Startup Fellowship and related programs. The Fellowship is an intensive educational and portfolio-building experience.
2. Explicit Non-Guarantee of Employment or Placement
ShipIntern explicitly does NOT guarantee:
- An internship offer from any participating startup or external company.
- Full-time employment, job placement, or salaried engagement.
- A scheduled interview with any specific company or founder.
- Any specific stipend, wage, or compensation level.
Eligibility for startup opportunities inside the ShipIntern ecosystem is earned by satisfying defined completion and readiness benchmarks. All hiring, interviewing, and selection decisions remain strictly at the sole and independent discretion of participating companies.
3. “ShipIntern Ready” Status & Ecosystem Eligibility
Enrollment and payment of the fellowship fee does not constitute automatic attainment of “ShipIntern Ready” status. “ShipIntern Ready” is an earned performance credential contingent upon 100% program participation, approved completion of a Proof of Work artifact, professional profile submission, and passing the multi-dimensional readiness assessment.
4. Company Sprints & Ethical Standards
Company Sprints are scoped, educational project challenges designed to simulate real-world startup problems. Company Sprints must not be utilized by partner startups as a mechanism for extracting substantial unpaid commercial labor. ShipIntern reviews all challenge briefs to ensure pedagogical value, safety, and lack of production data risk.
5. Intellectual Property
Fellows retain full copyright and intellectual property rights over the original Proof of Work artifacts, codebases, strategy documents, and designs created during the Fellowship, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in a sponsored corporate sprint challenge.
6. Professional Conduct & Dismissal
ShipIntern maintains a zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty, plagiarism, harassment, or unprofessional conduct during cohort sessions. Failure to uphold professional standards may result in removal from the cohort and disqualification from ecosystem matching without refund.
